Hilton spent last night in Sydney celebrating the New Year with her boyfriend, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, and about 30 friends.

Sources claimed yesterday she was to have seen in the New Year in Brisbane but those plans were scrapped after Sir Richard Branson contacted advertising guru John Singleton, the man responsible for bringing Paris to Australia, and asked that she change her schedule to attend his private party on Sydney Harbour.

Hilton, who is in Sydney to promote a new beer, said yesterday she was disappointed Paradise Kids had criticised her following her visit there in 2004, while she was based on the Gold Coast filming House of Wax.

But the 25-year-old hotel heiress said her representatives had contacted Paradise Kids as soon as she flew in to Australia last week to ask if she could again help the charity.

Paradise Kids had attacked Hilton after a misunderstanding surrounding a star-studded charity concert.

After she last visited Paradise Kids, Hilton said she would try to put together a benefit concert with The Backstreet Boys – the band that included her ex-boyfriend Nick Carter.

The pair broke-up soon after she returned to the US and the charity's organisers claimed Hilton had broken a promise by not organising the event.

"I just think that's not fair," she said. "I went there and visited the charity and I did raise awareness for them."

She said she felt it was important to support Paradise Kids.

"I'm planning to visit them again when I come back to the Gold Coast in the next couple of months."

Paradise Kids executive director Reverend Ian Mavor said yesterday he was sorry the relationship with Hilton had soured but all was forgiven.

"It's all forgiven," he said.

"We like the idea of her doing something for us. We'd love for her to come visit again. It's lovely and we appreciate her help."

The 25-year-old ¨C who has been seen partying since filing for divorce from Kevin Federline ¨C has shocked fans on website www.worldofbritney.com so much they have decided to shut it down.

Ruben Gray, who founded the website, revealed: "Britney is losing her identity and credibility. Britney is done. For me at least.

"No matter what anyone thinks or how they may disagree, it is very hard to maintain the respect needed to keep things going. So we have decided to shut the website down."

The website has had almost 37 million visitors since it opened in 2000.

It will officially close on January 31.

Rounding out the top 10 searches were radioblog, a Web program that's used to play music or sound on websites; Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia; the generic term video, which results in about 1.37 billion matches; Rebelde, a Mexican miniseries soap opera; Mininova, a search engine for downloading music, movies, TV shows and programs; and wiki, a term that refers to a collaborative website that can be edited by many users.

The top Google search term for news articles was Paris Hilton, who made headlines all year for a rift with former The Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie, the release of her self-titled debut CD, an arrest for allegedly driving under the influence and for simply being Paris.

Google also broke down some common questions, and more than anyone else, people wanted to know "who is Borat?" The TV and movie character, played by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, was the star of the hit comedy Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.

Google doesn't compile a year in review for Canadian searches, but in November, Ebay was the top search term followed by Myspace.

When it comes to women, Israeli men know what they want - and what they want, clearly, is Angelina Jolie.

For the fourth time in four years, the American movie star has topped Blazer magazine's list of the world's 100 sexiest women. The results, published in the current issue of the Israeli men's magazine, also indicate how attractive Israeli men find their female counterparts. (Pretty attractive.) Israeli women accounted for more than one-third of the spots in the survey - an impressive feat given that they comprise roughly one-tenth of 1 percent of the world's female population.

Though Jolie won the poll yet again, Israeli women packed themselves in near the top of Blazer's 2006 list, collecting the second-, thirdand fourth-place slots and taking 11 of the top 25 spots in the annual ranking.

Claiming the poll's runner-up status for the first time was Israeli swimsuit model Bar Rafaeli, the newly annointed face of Samsung cellphones. The blue-eyed 21-year-old has found herself in increasingly high demand during the past year for overseas modeling work, her career no doubt boosted in part by her relationship with Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio. Like DiCaprio, the 146,000 voters in the Blazer poll preferred Rafaeli to the Titanic star's ex, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who fell 13 spots to 29th on this year's list.

Following Rafaeli in the Blazer ranking was model and actress Miri Bohadana, the magazine's runner-up a year ago and the current face of the Golbary clothing line. The 29-year-old Sderot native fell just short of second place, but the magazine helpfully notes that Bohadana, currently awaiting the birth of her first child, can take solace in having placed in the poll's top 10 in all four years of its existence.

Making the highest debut on Blazer's 2006 poll is professional ballroom dancer Anna Aronov, who cemented her place in Israeli pop culture in September with her breakdown on the season finale of hit reality series Dancing with the Stars. An immigrant to Israel from the former Soviet Union, the 24-year-old Aronov topped other members of the top 10 including actress Liv Tyler (#5), Lost in Translation star Scarlett Johansson (#6) and Sin City pin-up Jessica Alba (#8).

Rounding out the Blazer top 10 was Israeli model and actress Yael Goldman, who jumped 22 spots from last year's poll to overtake - almost - Italian screen goddess Monica Bellucci (#9).

Other Israeli veterans of the Blazer poll included models Galit Gutman (#18) and Esti Ginsburg (#21), as well as actresses Noa Tishby (#22), Yael Bar Zohar (#23) and Ayelet Zorer (#32). Model Moran Atias, a Haifa transplant to Milan, held steady this year at #12, while actress Agam Rodeberg, who's nearly done with her IDF service, beat Pamela Anderson by a spot to rank in at #52.

The nearly three dozen Israelis listed in the poll weren't the only Blazer honorees with connections to the country. Despite - or, more likely, because of - her appearance in the failed sequel to Basic Instinct earlier this year, actress Sharon Stone squeaked onto the list in 100th place, one spot below Kabbala enthusiast Madonna. The two women, both 48, have each traveled to Israel in recent years, with Madonna visiting Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Safed during the 2004 High Holidays and Stone spending several days in Israel in March as a guest of the Peres Center for Peace.

Celebrity bad-girl Paris Hilton will be partying in Sydney this new year's eve, a publicist says.

Launch Management Group publicist Antonia O'Neill said today advertising man John Singleton has secured Hilton's services to choose the face of his new beer, Bondi Blonde.

Organisers are confident the notorious party girl will show at Bondi on new year's day to select a bikini babe to be the face of the beer after spending the night enjoying new year's fun in Sydney.

"We'll be taking good care of her on new year's eve," Ms O'Neill said.

"We are sure Sydney's hottest parties will want to let us know what they have planned to see if the world's biggest party girl will want to attend."

The hotel heiress who appeared in reality television show The Simple Life arrives in Sydney on Thursday, the same day that 40 Bondi Blonde finalists will be chosen at Sydney's Hilton Hotel by Mr Singleton and pro-surfer Koby Abberton.

"We only found out she was coming out on Friday of last week ... she arrives from the United States on Thursday morning," Ms O'Neill said.

Actress Angelina Jolie has spent Christmas Day with mainly Colombian refugees in San Jose, Costa Rica, as part of her work as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Jolie arrived in Costa Rica today and was to visit a group of refugee children and families and to meet Costa Rican officials, UNHCR said in a statement.

There are about 11,500 refugees in the Central American country, most of whom fled Colombia because of the conflict there between leftist guerrillas, soldiers and paramilitary forces.

"The conflict in Colombia is the greatest humanitarian tragedy in the Western Hemisphere, but it receives very little international attention," the Oscar-winning actress said after she arrived in San Jose.

"My Christmas message to Colombian refugees and to the millions of displaced people in Colombia is that the world has not totally forgotten them."

An estimated three million Colombians have been forced from their homes by more than two decades of armed conflict, and most are internally displaced, essentially refugees in their own country.

Another 500,000 have fled to other countries in the region. Together, the press statement said, they make up the largest single population of concern to UNHCR anywhere in the world.

Jolie will visit several small businesses set up by refugees in San Jose with help from micro-loans from the UN agency.

She also called for greater acceptance of refugees, who are often stigmatised.

"The best present we can give refugees is often a little more understanding and good will, not just at Christmas but all year long," she said.

UNHCR said it was Jolie's second trip to the region since she became a goodwill ambassador for the refugee agency in 2001, noting that she went to Ecuador in 2002 and later wrote a personal journal of her meetings with Colombian refugees.

The actress, who was named by PETA as one of the worst dressed celebrities of 2006 because of her penchant for animal hide, has vowed to be fur free in the future.

Christina, 26, has now written a letter to PETA apologising for her actions, which read: “After being named on the PETA worst dressed list for wearing fur, I have been deluged with angry and disappointed fans.
