Actress Anne Hathaway believes every actor should be prepared to be naked on screen if the role requires nudity.

The 28-year-old actress will be seen in some steamy scenes in her new film "Love and Other Drugs" alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.

She is happy to take her clothes off for the cameras if the role requires nudity and she relies on her co-stars to help her overcome any pre-scene nerves, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"Doing nudity is really a part of being an actor and you know at some point it might happen. But everyone wants to be respectful of each other and everyone wants each other to feel as comfortable as possible so I think those days have a focus," said Hathaway.

"In this film we really approached it from a very prepared place. We discussed what we wanted to do beforehand and what we were comfortable with, we traded references from other films to establish an index of communicational references that we share. So by the time we came to do the scenes we were very well prepared," she added.

Hollywood beauty Anne Hathaway committed an embarrasing blunder on the sets of Love and Other Drugs when she stripped in front of the crew when the cameras were not yet rolling. The 28-year old star has shot some intimate scenes with co-star Jake Gyllenhaal in the film. But on one of the rehearsal days, she posed nude thinking that the scene was being shot.

The Princess Diaries star however did not lose her confidence, though the entire crew was watching her.

"On the day I shot the scene where I have to remove my trench coat and be nude underneath I thought we were filming, but it turned out we were just rehearsing and I got unnecessarily naked in front of a lot of people. But hey, I just did my job," she said.

The Oscar nominated actress however admitted that she was nervous at that time but managed to hide it from everyone around.

"I didn't let anyone know that I was nervous. It was just an internal thing," Hathaway said at the premiere of the film in New York.

Hathaway has starred with Jake Gyllenhall before in the much-acclaimed Brokeback Mountain. The actor, who plays the role of a pharmaceutical salesman in the movie, recently said that he was not nervous while filming the intimate scenes with Hathaway in their new movie together.

"There's something about the way Annie and I both work which is inherently very musical. It's all about rhythm. There's a rhythm to writing, there's a rhythm to sports and there's a rhythm to sex," said the actor.

While Gyllenhaal has described the film, which will release later this month, as a nude fest, Hathaway found it harder to cope with the scenes.

"It's racy, very racy. I keep asking people if it is too sexy for them. However, it is just part of the job, that being said, it is intensely mortifying taking your clothes off in front of other people, but it is also intensely mortifying doing a lot of things in front of people and I've learned how to deal with that," dailymail.co.uk quoted Hathaway as saying.

Hathaway plays a woman suffering from Parkinson's Disease who falls in love with a Viagra salesman, played by Gyllenhaal.

"We had already had fake onscreen sex before in "Brokeback Mountain" so it came naturally, we just had to do it again," Gyllenhaal said.
