Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have been named the most romantic onscreen couple of all time.

The survey of moviegoers saw the pair voted ahead of classic on screen pairings such as Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh from 'Gone with the Wind', reports the Daily Mail.

Almost a quarter of all those who voted rated the romance that plays out during the final hours on the ill fated cruise liner 'Titanic' as the best Hollywood has ever made.

The romance between Gable and Leigh in the classic 1939 film 'Gone with the Wind' was rated the second most romantic onscreen pairing.

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in 'Pretty Woman' landed the third spot in the survey.

Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall from the 1942 classic 'Casablanca' came fourth while Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn were voted fifth.

More than 500,000 people were asked for their favourite film choices and characters for ABC TV and People magazine.

Actress Kate Winslet was nervous during her sex scenes with actor Leonardo DiCaprio in the new movie "Revolutionary Road", with her husband Sam Mendes directing.

"Kate seemed very nervous. She kept on saying, 'This feels so weird'. I just told her, 'It doesn't feel weird to me - it's only acting'. Then Sam broke the tension by telling me how and where to hold Kate's bottom. He said, 'Put your hand here', showing me the position. After that, Kate just went for it, like the great actress she is. I can't think of anyone in the world of her generation who is better," thesun.co.uk reported DiCaprio as saying.

Dicaprio and Winslet became good friends ever since they starred together in "Titanic".

He said: "The director, Jim Cameron, had his own way of doing things and that was tough for us to get our heads around. That film had been his vision for years and he had to be in charge. We were young, inexperienced and were exhausted from filming. We only had each other and confided our feelings. It was never more than a close friendship - and that has lasted right up to today.

"Kate became one of my best friends and we've always been in touch. If we've not had a chance to meet, then we email each other. When I had the chance to work with her again in 'Revolutionary Road', I didn't have to think twice. I knew the script and I knew the scenes we were going to do in front of Sam. I just didn't think it was going to be a problem."

Kate Winslet has confessed that her steamy scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in new movie ‘Revolutionary Road’ was ‘too weird’ and she couldn't wait for Kate Winslet it to end.

The 33-year-old actress, who first starred opposite DiCaprio in 1997 epic Titanic , revealed that the reason wasn't her shyness or the crew members, but it was her husband, the film's director Sam Mendes, shouting instructions in the background, reports the China Daily.

"Sam was saying, 'OK, Leo, press your fingers right into her back, hard. Grab her butt, Leo.' All I could think was, 'Please let this be over soon'", Kate said.

The actress also revealed that she was afraid that her spouse would be upset seeing her simulating sex with another man.

"You know, 'What if we had a row at home and have to go to work the next day?' But if we have a disagreement, we are quite good at getting through it quickly and being very honest and married about it," she added.

Anne Hathaway has lavished praise on British actress Kate Winslet for her "greatness".

The Devil Wears Prada star Hathaway admits she was reduced to tears by an interview with the Titanic star - because Kate Winslet's success reminded Hathaway she still has a long way to go as an actress.

She says, "People say I appear controlled but I'm just all over the place. I cry terribly easily.

"I was reading an article about Kate Winslet in Vogue and I love her so much I started crying, realising how great she is and how far I have to go."

Kate Winslet has revealed that while she’s happy with her weight now, she once developed an addiction to laxatives in an effort to lose weight.

Kate told Hollywood Life recently: “When I was 15, I was nearly 14 stone (196 pounds). I was uncomfortable and self-conscious. I knew I wanted to be an actress and was big.”

“Over a year I sensibly got down to 10 stone (140 pounds). Then I became addicted to losing weight and went too far. I was never anorexic or bulimic. I went through a three-month experimental laxative time which was absolutely awful.”

“Luckily I was strong enough to be able to say to myself: ‘What are you doing? You are just really hungry.’”

“The whole weight thing drives me crazy. This stuff is so important to me because I have been there and know what a vicious cycle it is.”

“You want to teach young people that beauty comes from within and that food is great and a huge part of life. I am very, very normal. I am actually proud of all the marks and scars that I bear.”
