Eva Longoria has filed for divorce from husband Tony Parker after discovering 'hundreds of texts' from another woman on his phone.

The 'Desperate Housewives' actress filed the documents at Los Angeles Superior Court, just hours after denying reports they were planning to split.

"It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness," the Daily Mail quoted her as tweeting.

The news comes after a spokesperson for the 35-year-old actress shot down a report that claimed her basketball player husband had filed for divorce on Monday in Texas.

In the divorce papers, Longoria cites the standard "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. She is also seeking spousal support from Parker.

However, there was no reference to the claims her 28-year-old NBA star husband has been unfaithful.

But Eva confided to her friend Mario Lopez - host of U.S. entertainment show Extra - that Parker had cheated on her during their marriage.

The actress also confirmed to Lopez that she found hundreds of text messages from another woman on Parker's phone, who turned out to be the wife of one of the NBA player's teammates at the San Antonio Spurs.

The woman's identity has not been revealed nor the name of the San Antonio Spurs teammate.

Longoria added that her estranged husband cheated on her with yet another woman with whom he kept in touch via Facebook.

"She is devastated, she wants us all to know that. But she's strong," Lopez said.

Her husband later tweeted the same message.

Eva is being represented in the divorce by high profile celebrity divorce lawyer Lance Spiegel, who has previously worked for Sandra Bullock in her divorce from Jesse James and Russell Simmons in his divorce from Kimora Lee.

A source told Britain's Star magazine: "She and a girlfriend were ooh-ing and ahh-ing over all the baby things. She looked at cribs, changing tables and inquired about designing a nursery. "She bought a $116 Robbie Adrian blanket and a half-dozen Huddy Buddy Babygros, including one that proclaimed, 'I tend to drool'."

Eva who married Tony in a lavish ceremony last year - has made no secret of her desire to become a mother. She once said: "I've always loved the idea of having lots of children. If I'm around any baby, I'm like, 'Aaaaahhhh, babies!'

"I was pretty ambitions when I moved to Hollywood and I succeeded. But now I've found new ambitions I want to work, I want to be a great wife and I want to have children. This is a new chapter in my life. I will be very sad to go but I'll have more time to do movies."

Eva recently denied rumours she was pregnant, claiming her recent weight gain was down to the recent Hollywood writers strike as she couldn't go to work. She said: "No pregnancy, not yet. I've been cooking and eating, cooking and eating. I keep telling everyone that I've gained 10 pounds just being on strike."

The show's creator Marc Cherry doesn't want to go through the same complications as when Longoria's co-star Marcia Cross got pregnant.

Longoria said: "Marc's not kidding because he maps the year out and really knows the storyline. When Marcia became pregnant it was unexpected and it was hard for him to write around.

Tony and I are excited about starting a family, but because Marc has forbidden me to get pregnant this year we're going to spend time as a married couple and build a solid foundation together before we bring our child into the world."

The sex ban seems to be helping Tony's performance on the court - his team beat the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.

Eva, 32, also dismissed rumours the couple chose to marry in Paris on July 7 because it is considered to be a lucky date.

She said: "We picked that date because it's the only weekend we're both off."

Meanwhile, Eva partied with Jessica Simpson in Las Vegas at the weekend.

Eva cheered on Jessica as the singer joined the Pussycat Dolls on stage at Caesars Palace's Pure nightclub.

Jessica - who invited Eva to appear in her Public Affair music video - wowed the crowd by wearing a tight fitting black corset and flowing brunette locks.

The friends later took to Pure's dance floor along with Eva's pal Mario Lopez.

Mario and Eva were then seen at the star-studded boxing match between Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Junior at the MGM Grand on Saturday.

Jack Nicholson, Matthew McConaughey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy were also in attendance.

When it comes to her sex life, Eva Longoria doesn't shy away from admitting that she likes a bit of bondage sex now and then.

The sexy Latina, who is getting set to tie the knot with basketball player beau Tony Parker on July 7th this year, revealed that there were times that she liked to be "tied up".

However, Longoria declared that the one dress she has selected will not be dumped into the storage after the wedding celebrations are over.

"I'm going to sleep in mine after I wear it... It's so sad that you put it into storage," Contactmusic quoted Longoria, as saying.
