The newly formed friendship between pop star Britney Spears and Paris Hilton may already be over.


Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, both 25, are brokenhearted since Britney's new management team has reportedly stepped in and insisted that she stop hanging out with the socialite.

"Britney has been told by her people that if she ever wants a comeback, she had to stay far away from Paris and start acting like an adult," a source close to Spears tells Page Six, as quoted.

Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have been spotted partying together frequently since Spears filed for divorce from Kevin Federline last month.

It has been hinted that Paris Hilton was the force behind Britney's pantyless antics and excessive partying that Britney finally apologized for on her Web site last week.

Britney Spears filed for divorce from husband Kevin Federline last month and both are seeking full custody of their sons 15-month-old Sean Preston and three-month-old Jayden James.
