Paris Hilton is now referring to Britney Spears as "the animal" after being unceremoniously dumped by her former friend.

According to a report in today's press, the socialite is "fuming" after the singer phoned her to break the news that she couldn't be seen in public with her anymore.

Spears has apparently realised that her constant partying with Hilton since her split from husband Kevin Federline in November had seriously damaged her already battered reputation.

Only yesterday Britney was voted the 'Worst Celebrity Role Model' in a new poll - with Paris coming in second.

A source tells the News Of The World, "Britney realised her partying was being perceived in a bad light. People began questioning her as a mother.

"Britney called Paris and said she had decided not to be seen in public with her - she said it wasn't personal."

But after showing Britney the way to have a good time every night - not to mention the benefits of not wearing any underwear - Hilton seems to have taken it to heart!
