Baby showers are for 'showering' mums to be and their babies with love and presents, and Salma Hayek and her new baby were definitely overwhelmed last week.

The Ugly Betty star, who is nine months pregnant, held a baby shower on Saturday August 25, at her home in the Hollywood Hills, even received doubles of several gifts off her registry list at LA's NoMi boutique.

According to US Weekly, she received Petunia Pickle Bottom Cake bags in both black and pink, as well as two Bloom high chairs and Graco Snug Ride car seats.

"She was very excited about everything. She was full of pregnancy glow and looked so happy," said Pia Lindstrom, who attended the party, alongside guests such as Salma's mother Diana.

The Mexican actress, who is engaged to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, has not yet announced whether her first child is expected to be a boy or a girl.

A close family source revealed that the singer was ecstatic about adding another baby to the family.

“Madonna’s over the moon that she’s been told she can take Mercy. She didn’t want another complicated adoption,” the paper quoted the source, as saying.

“Mercy is a beautiful baby girl. She’s so joyful and happy and giggles every time she’s picked up. Madonna just loves the way she claps her hands and laughs constantly. She has huge, dancing eyes. Madonna calls her smiling angel,” the source added.

Madge will file papers in February, a month after David’s adoption is finalised.

The singer’s camp has however declined to comment about Mercy.

AUSTRALIAN pop singer Dannii Minogue is embroiled in a new sex scandal involving an old video of her kissing a bald lesbian.

The images showing Minogue kissing and hugging the woman have been posted on the YouTube website.

The Daily Star newspaper reported that the video was shot to promote Minogue's single, Everlasting Night, which was recorded for a Mardi Gras event in Australia eight years ago.

"She made the video for a Gay Pride event, because she believes very strong that people should be able to love whoever they want," an unnamed source told the newspaper.

"She won't be happy to discover people are using it to try to encourage lesbian rumours."

A caption shown with the video on the YouTube website says: "I knew Dannii was a bit racy, but this is very steamy for a pop video".

"It will win her new fans, but it doesn't put those lesbian rumours to bed."

The latest scandal facing Minogue comes a day after she lashed out at "creepy" people for posting raunchy photos of her with a female lapdancer on the internet.

Minogue last weekend began her new role as a host on hit British TV talent show X Factor.

She has co-hosted a similar program in her native country called Australia's Got Talent.

It seems that singer Beyonce Knowles is not having much luck on the stage these days.

Jessica Biel knows how to spice up a party.

The actress treated her guests with some shirtless cabana boys, who were serving her and about 100 others at a baby shower she threw for her producing partner, Michelle Purple, at the LG House in Malibu.

"It was a Mexican-themed soiree with tacos and quesadillas, all served by shirtless cabana boys," the New York Daily News quoted an insider, as saying.

And they weren’t the only boys showing some skin to Biel and company, for the guests were entertained by two male strippers as well.

“There were two, and they were plain-clothed, so no one knew they were strippers. Then all of a sudden, stripper music came on, and they started taking off their clothes,” a guest said.

The guest further said Biel, wearing a green and brown bikini under a white sundress, was described as "the perfect hostess."

But Halle’s baby joy has been tempered by her fears that her diabetes could turn the happiest event of her life into a difficult pregnancy.

“Halle is so happy right now,” said an insider. “She’s wanted a baby for so long. But at the same time she’s scared because she is very aware of the complications that having diabetes can cause during pregnancy. She’s doing everything possible to make sure her baby is born healthy.”

Scarlett Johansson just got really busy. The Hollywood Reporter says she’s signed on to no fewer than three future films.

The first one is a movie we talked a little about yesterday. It’s the three Jennifer film He’s Just Not That Into You. Already in the cast is Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kevin Connolly, and Justin Long. The second is much more interesting. It’s a the Frank Miller directed adaptation of a comic called “The Spirit”. In it, Scarlett will play the role she was born to play: A femme fatale. The Spirit is about a masked crime fighter. The character was popular in Sunday newspaper comic inserts back in the 40s and the movie should be a gritty looking noir. Scarlett will play a curvy, dangerous beauty named Silk N Floss. Alright, the name’s kind of bad, even Bond’s babes manage better, but she’s described as a sexy intelligent secretary whose an accomplice to the movie’s evil mastermind villain, which means lots of fun to be had with Scarlett Johansson

The third film is another boring costume drama. The rumor that Scarlett is doing Mary Queen of Scotts is confirmed, putting her back in the corsets and powdered wigs that Hollywood actresses and female moviegoers seem to favor. Yawn. Bring on The Spirit!

Amy Winehouse has pulled out of two Rolling Stones gigs in Germany after she was admitted to hospital last week.

The 23-year-old, who was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, was due to appear as a support act at Dusseldorf's LTU Arena and the AOL Arena in Hamburg.

The cancelled sets are the latest in a string of gigs the singer has pulled citing exhaustion or ill health.

A spokesman for the star declined to comment over a Sunday newspaper's claim she was treated for a drugs overdose.

COCAINE rap starlet Lindsay Lohan has turned over a new leaf in rehab, it was claimed yesterday.

The Mean Girls actress, 21, checked herself into a Utah drink and drug clinic after a run-in with the law.

She was charged on July 24 with drink driving and possession of cocaine.

Before that she had been wearing an alcohol monitor bracelet on her ankle in a bid to keep her off the booze.

But sources at the Cirque Lodge clinic say Lohan has been a "model patient" - attending AA meetings every day as well as talks with psychiatrists and psychologists.

She has two roommates and washes dishes, cleans toilets and does laundry.

The news flies in the face of inside information from an anonymous former patient at the clinic who gave a series of television interviews.

The woman claimed Lohan got special treatment that had disrupted other addicts.

She said: "It's important for people to work together to show others are going through the same thing.

"However, that was not the case with her. By the time I left she had not attended any group meetings and she supposedly got a private room."

But medics say Lohan has been cooperative and the woman making the allegations was "a problem" who checked out against medical advice.

Lindsay Lohan's former bodyguard has revealed that her parents have to be blamed for the starlet's bad behaviour, for both Michael and Dina Lohan ‘were wild, abusive, neglectful partiers'.

Tony Almeida, who worked with the Mean Girls star between 2002-2005, has opened the lid on how she had to deal with her parent's alcohol and drug related abuses from a young age.

"From a young age, she dealt with her father's physical, emotional and drug abuses as well as her mother's drinking,” the New York Post quoted him, as saying.

Citing one incident, he said that once a furious Michael Lohan had ‘slammed on the brakes and dragged her out of the car, pushed her up against the hood, screamed at her and called her a slut on the Long Island Expressway.'

Almeida ‘got in the middle of it and pulled him off.'

“(Meanwhile, Dina often) let her do whatever she wanted, just to keep her happy and working... [At her 16th birthday party] Lindsay drank whatever she wanted - I saw her drinking beer and mixed drinks with my own eyes [without Dina's intervention],” he added.

The ex-bodyguard also said that Dina looked at the starlet as a cash cow. Dina was desperate to become a star herself and received 10 percent of Lindsay's income.

"Lindsay was the family cash cow - and she resented it, They counted on her to pay their bills... I saw Lindsay exhausted, begging her mother for some time off,' he said.

When Lohan was 15, they allowed her to share a room with her dthen boyfriend Aaron Carte, for they were glad that she found someone who could help her in her singing career.

"They knew Lindsay was sleeping in Aaron's room. But they seemed happy she had chosen somebody who could benefit her singing career,” he added.

She oozes cool, but Gwen Stefani reveals she loves nothing better than watching BBC1's Antiques Roadshow.

The singer, 37, says she never misses an episode – and tunes into the show via the internet or gets someone to tape it.

'I love it,' Gwen tells The Sun. 'I've always been a hoarder and a collector so I find the show fascinating.

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly checked into a Utah rehabilitation center.

CBS News reports the 21-year-old actress has checked into the Cirque Lodge drug and alcohol treatment center in Sundance, Utah.

It would be her third stint in rehab, following two stays at Wonderland and Promises in the Los Angeles area. Town and Country Magazine recently named Cirque Lodge as one of the nation's top substance abuse treatment facilities.

The New York Post reported that Lohan had on August 3 gone to her mother's home on Long Island. The exact day of her reported check-in to Cirque Lodge is not known.

Lohan's representatives did not comment on her whereabouts. She is due in court in Santa Monica, CA on August 24, when she faces charges from her July 24 arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. She also faces previous DUI-related charges.

BIKINI Babe Pamela Anderson is working up some backstage magic with Las Vegas illusionist Hans Klok - the two are now lovers.

Former Baywatch star Anderson, whose divorce from second husband Kid Rock was finalised earlier this year, is performing as Klok's assistant in his casino show The Beauty Of Magic.

The blonde bombshell made the startling revelation when interviewed on a US chat show.

Asked if she was dating Klok, Anderson said: "There's a lot of love backstage. It's very physical, it's very loving."

Britney Spears allegedly snubbed Victoria Beckham by storming out of a restaurant when she was offered a table next to the Spice Girl.

The Toxic singer is said to have stormed out of the restaurant at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hotel when she was offered a table next to the Spice Girl and her husband David Beckham last week.

Victoria is said to have angered staff at the hip Los Angeles hangout - who do their utmost to keep the star-filled venue private and paparazzi free.

Paris Hilton is reportedly dating actress Mischa Barton’s ex, Cisco Adler.

The socialite had a series of dates with Adler, who was earlier dumped by Barton after his nude pics appeared on ParisExposed.com.

And it seems The O.C. actress has no issues with her ex dating Hilton, for Barton, who earlier dated oil scion Brandon Davis, a close pal of The Simple Life star, is tired of ‘immature’ guys in her life.

“I'd like someone who's mature. God, I can't take another immature person,” the Sun quoted Barton, as saying.

Earlier, the actress was shocked to see Adler’s bare-all pics on the site, which put out a few video clips obtained from the hotel heiress’ belongings from a storage locker.

However, Adler had said that Barton wasn’t amused by the news, and that it was more difficult for her than for him in many ways.
